They were an interesting bunch. I refer in particular to the Cathars/Albigensians. They had an impressive, but peculiar form of gnosis that led to tricky political situations and conflicts with the dominant religious/political powers of the day.

I wish that they were still around. But, apparently, they all died from tricky gnosis.

The moral of the story is that you should be careful about internalizing anything that is only half-baked.

I've tried it out a few times with people I know out here in the physical world...but it turns out half of them don't know what "gnosis" is and the other half don't know what "trichinosis" is.

So I just get the same "you need professional help and perhaps medication" look that I always get from my TBM relatives when I try to explain why Brigham Young's literally "not knowing god from Adam" was a bit of a problem.

it turns out that Master Chef Pignocchio also possesses a DGG (Doctor of Gnocchi Gnosis) degree from Gnarly University. He boasts that nobody has ever died from tricky gnosis that could be traced back to any food prepared by him.

The good news is anyone can be gnostic now that a we have Wikipedia at our fingertips. Even Omnignostic. Tricky to pull off without being obvious, though.
