After work yesterday, the weather was amazing (finally in the 40's) and clear with no wind. I was able to go outside and work on my farm, cleaning garden beds from the partially composted fall debris, moving some composted cow manure and caring for the animals. I had to shovel and hand dig weeds from between the garden spots. I could hear my children laughing inside (one later joined me to tell me about his day while I worked).

At one point, my hands covered in soil and feeling extremely cold from working the nearly frozen ground, several Sand Cranes flew over head calling out to one another. I looked up from my soil-covered hands and watched as these birds flew awkwardly away. The sun was setting and filled the sky with oranges, yellows and purple.

I love my life. I loved that moment perfectly. I found myself praying in gratitude to nature for allowing me this moment of health and happy work while I prepare my land for the upcoming planting and harvest.

Just thought I'd share a perfect moment from my life.

Planning, working, providing and experiencing life for yourself and family. Well written. Could imagine experiencing seeing the garden bed being prepared and the cool air, (in warmer, dryer climes myself). Happy for you ;o) Thank you for sharing.

I imagined seeing through your eyes, and it's made me happy.

I love moments like that. It's why I still grow a little garden and have too many plants to care for.

I live in a place that has spectacular mountain views, eagles, and blue herons are a common sight. I can't imagine staying inside everyday and missing out on the scenery and nature around me.

Indeed, that was a lovely moment.
Thank you for sharing it.
