....it becomes a moral issue..

https://fox13now.com/2019/02/11/lds-church-says-it-opposes-bill-eliminating-3-2-beer-in-utah/?fbclid=IwAR0MxfG52sXZnjxWrrYu41okbEpVoSTaQoYKmBWJPsQA8-s9ukDgi5zIPFM

Apparently, getting rid of 3.2 beer in grocery stores is a moral issue. I don't see any morality involved in this but..whatever.

Also...someone should tell the LDS church that UT grocery stores aren't getting rid of 3.2 beer......

Major brewers are GETTING RID OF 3.2 BEER!!!!!

Why the involvement in something THEY HAVE NO STAKE IN.....

There seems to be No Limit on how stupid Utah laws are or can be, any further explanation seems superfluous.

But Medicaid expansion isn't a moral issue.

LGBT suicides are not a moral issue.

Opening up God's wilderness areas to environmental rape is not a moral issue.

Curious.

Not curious: rather, appalling.

Representation without taxation must be nice.

You mean the other way around.

I think Gheco has intentionally reversed those terms.

Under English rule, the American colonials were taxed but not given political representation. By contrast, the LDS church has superb representation in Salt Lake City but, as a charitable organization, does not have to pay taxes either in the state or nationally.

Hence representation without taxation.

I knew/ know; thanks Lot's Wife.

I thought they meant the people, vs. those balded suits.

Is the church involved in this because Rusty and the boys have a few on Thursdays in their upstairs party room?

Like polygamy and racicism, beer brewing is something the church seems to conveniently forget about. It brewed copious amounts of beer up until prohibition.

We only get involved in political lobbying on moral issues.

Ok. So what constitutes a moral issue?

That's easy. If we're involved, it's a moral issue.
-------------

This is known as a circular definition.
