Lent humor

The online comic "Jesus and Mo" features Jesus and Mohammed as roommates in the modern world. In the current edition, the two of them are having a discussion in front of the TV.

Mo: So, God sent you, his only son, to die for mankind?

Jesus: Yes.

Mo: And then he revived you and whisked you back to heaven to spend eternity with him?

Jesus: Yes.

Mo: And that’s why this is called “Lent?” Because God lent his only begotten son?

Jesus: No, GAVE—“God GAVE his only begotten son!”

Mo: But hasn’t God still got you?

Jesus: Lent is short for the old English word “lenten”—the spring season, when Christians are supposed to give something up.

Mo: Like you gave up being dead?

Jesus: Piss off, Mo.
