30 years later, missionary can barely walk due to the weight of the tick.

Missionary: I know Jesus is the savior.....and so on, and so on.

A tick is good because it's filling up on blood. That that's better than the one I had in mind:

A monkey on the back with a nametag or hat on the monkey that says "Mormon" (or better yet, "religion").


I think of this image when I see someone dutifully following some pointless religious law. People can't allow themselves to shake off the huge weight.

I'm guessing SB would say he has plenty of his own ideas.

It was Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever--a tick-borne disease.

The "This is the Forkin' Place" monument at the mouth of Emigration Canyon commemorates the place where the very sick Brigham Young feebly looked around and said: "Stop here god%$a&*!amnit! I'm sick! If you don't stop, you #@$! son of a !@#$!, I'll shoot you in the head." Of course these words of Brigham Young are not included in the historical records, as historians chose to euphemistically rephrase Brigham's words as: "This is the place!"

What if that tick had been successful in her assassination attempt. How would history have played out differently?
