Just so we're clear: Marriott corporation is not now, nor has it ever been, owned by the Corporation of the President (i.e., the LDS church). It is a private enterprise that has no legal, financial or fiduciary connection to the LDS church whatsoever.

It is true that its founder/original owner, J. Willard Marriott, was a practicing Mormon. Many of its current owners, directors, etc. are probably LDS. But the corporation itself is entirely independent of the church.

Yet there's also the Marriott Center and the Marriott Business school at BYU. The legal, financial and fiduciary connection is obvious there.
