...Except if it makes us sound way cool. Then it was mos def derived from the Masons. Except that they changed it and we have the real thing. And it originated in the temple of Solomon. Except when it didn't.

To be fair the exterior of the Philly Lodge ("temple") is pretty generic architecture, a blend of Romanesque and/or Italianate (have I got that right?) and Gothic.

It's the ceremony which interests me.

The interior of the former Masonic temple in Baltimore is rather similar (it is now a hotel.) There are many rooms with beautiful moldings, carvings, draperies, furniture, and other ornaments. I don't think that any Mormon temple could approach the beauty and expense of the intricate workmanship. Many of the carved symbols would be familiar to Mormons.
