A good friend wanted a Scrabble game but didn't choose to get one at a thrift store (often available there in excellent condition)…

So she ordered one online, when it came, it was made in China with plastic pieces. It was utterly devoid of the character that wood exudes.

What a disappointment.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I kinda hate it when that happens. How cheap and crummy.

Reminds me of a church I know.

I once bought an "Official Scrabble Dictionary." It included all sorts of slang and ethnic words. My family and I actually had a big fight over it, as I'm quite the purist on these matters.

"Official?" Sez (sic) who?

My ex accused me of cheating when I used esoteric carpentry words.
She got even with me by getting me drunk on her most excellent margaritas and then winning the game.

And you broke up with her for beating you at Scrabble?

I've found that playing Scrabble nude in an appropriate setting often leads to a couple pleasuring each other in a delightful way...

My family and I have enjoyed a game of Scrabble together on a number of occasions. I would miss the wooden letter tiles as well.

Saucie and I bought a Scrabble game last year and I inveigled her into playing "Scrabble: no questions asked" wherein challenges are not allowed.

Two things happen...

You get a lot of seven letter words, and

There are usually 8 to 12 blank tiles populating the board by the end of the game.

Judic West taught me this version.

I enjoy Speed Scrabble because it's either a test of trust in your fellow players or a test of how well you can cheat. Or both.
