It said the remains found near his home have proven to be his as everyone feared. He was a great entertainer and a charming kindly man and I'm sorry he's he's gone. My condolences to his family and friends.

The roommate (not his husband,) was one of the last to have seen him, and was in possession of his debit card at the time he went missing. His car was found abandoned 200 miles away from his home.

Yet he was dead inside his home the whole time? Or was his body placed there? Too many unanswered questions still.

Point taken, Amyjo.

Is it asking too much to mourn one passing of one person at a time?

Trying to process the death of Dennis Day is enough to handle for one thread, and then you unload this?!

Perhaps start another thread for Lizzie Shelley? Btw, her uncle has the "evil eye" per the photo news shot. He is evil personified.

That guy is so freaking creepy, he seriously belongs in a mental asylum.

Thank you, Cheryl....I hadn't seen this.

I am proud to be able to say that Dennis was (when we were in first and second grade, at Woodland Hills Elementary School) my friend--and my partner, once, when we performed together in a school program.

I wish him Bon Voyage, and hope that wherever he is now, he is happy.

I read several accounts of what happened and still did not get a clear picture. His decomposed body was found in his house a year after he “went missing?” There is something very queer about this whole story.

Hush, now! I'm still trying to process my grief.

I agree: the story does not make sense (and never did).

It is good, however, to have closure.

When you've known someone personally, closure really does help those who are still living.

Unless his body was hidden inside the house because he was murdered. The fact he was found this past April, and an investigation is underway sounds like it was a homicide. Otherwise the press would be releasing more details, which it is not at this time.

He was decomposed pretty badly. They likely relied on DNA or dental records perhaps to confirm it was him. His house had been searched well before. Was he buried inside there? Or what?

Very strange. I hope his family will get the closure they need, and so will Dennis Day find peace and rest. If there was a homicide then they are waiting on the answers too.

The press did get the word that either DNA nor dental records were of any use when the body was discovered in April. Whatever process was used (my guess being tooth or dental DNA), when the family was told, they passed the word on to the press.

It is shaping up to be either a complex mystery or the work of some genuine bumblers. Who leaves a body lying around?

My vote is with genuine bumbler. Anyone with me?
