From what I first heard about her lawsuit I thought she was going after historicity, but when I read the filing for dismissal it looked like she took the wrong tack in a big way, unless TSCC was using misdirection (which is part of what she was accusing them of!)
She, like you, has a right to use the legal system in this way. If the courts found her case frivolous, they could order her to pay the church's and the court's costs.
That will not happen. Whether she wins or loses--I think she loses--this is a meritorious suit.
I’d say it’s taxpayer money well spent. Even if she loses. The world and LDS.inc need to see that people are willing to at least attempt holding this cult to account.
Taxpayer money is wasted in other ways; the mormon corporation wastes tithing money on building $1 billion shopping malls. Perhaps the focus should be on THAT.
Does the OP actually think that Laura Gaddy shouldn't be suing the church? It even looks like the OP is against both Laura Gaddy and the lawsuit. What in the hell is that about (troll)? Win or lose, when someone does you wrong you hit them back. You may take a beating yourself. But at least they won't walk away without taking losses (no matter how unharmed they may pretend to be afterward). Too bad most of us aren't as brave and resourceful. If they need money, maybe I'll donate. If/when they win, I win, even though I get nothing of material value and am not a part of the class. Why would anyone other than a TBM disparage this lawsuit or its Plaintiff? How does she "harm the public" as the OP puts it?
