After all...Joseph Smith, the Prophet and Seer of the Lord, has done more, save Jesus only, for the salvation of men in this world, than any other man...including even Holy Mary Mother of God!!!
I find it odd that he hasn't made himself known to more of Humanity by appearing in profile as a stain on a wall of a hut in some South American or African village.
This event wasn't an appearance but still it reminded me of Joseph. While I was hiking, something stuck to the bottom of my shoe. As I was scraping it off I thought for just a moment that there was treasure hidden there, but the treasure slipped away.
JS's likeness easily could have appeared on a tortilla or a tree, but if the person dealing with the tortilla, or viewing the tree, was never Mormon (and/or never lived in a Mormon-predominant area), then the likeness would be meaningless to them.
Considering the number of tortillas made and consumed in the United States (or Mexico, etc.), or the number of trees in the United States (or Mexico, etc.), it's not surprising that--even if it DID happen, not only one time, but potentially thousands of times--no one would recognize this as an unusual occurrence.
[The same would apply to a native of Africa, or of South America.]

likenesses on toast and one that appeared in a cappuccino were not Mother Mary. They were images showing Joseph Smith wearing a hoodie, which was something he wore whenever he wanted to sneak out to a barn somewhere to meet a young lady to whom he had offered a chance to earn exaltation and eternal life. It was a crude hoodie of his own make, but usually effective, except for that one time when he went out to the barn to help Fanny earn exaltation and eternal life.
About a block east of Trolley Square in downtown SLC. It didn't just appear. It had a little help from Joe's friends, but still magical in an OMG WTF sort of way,
