...and then someone from outside of my isolated milieu looked in on me and asked me whether I was a Mormon or not a Mormon. At that point, feeling that I could no longer maintain the requisite equilibrium in the superposition that allowed me to be both Mormon and non-Mormon at the same time, my Mormon belief system collapsed and I began to regard myself as being non-Mormon. The uncertainty dissipated and I had a cup of coffee.
Q) Are you a mormon? A) Yes. Q) Are you a faithful member of the mormon church? A) Oh, I’m not a religious mormon; I don’t think the mormon church has any connection to ghawd. Q) So then why call yourself a mormon? A) Because I was raised mormon and still consider it my tribe. Plus I’m a loner and being a non-believing mormon helps keep most people from trying to ‘connect’.
