The whole clan reminds me of one of the Star Trek humanoid variants.

IIRC, there were Klingons, Vulcans and Romneyans from the planet Romneyus.

The Romneyans were distant relatives of the Vulcans, but broke away from the Vulcans when the Vulcans began to prohibit first-cousin marriages, child brides and pervasive polygamy. One of the Romneyan leaders developed a strategy of looting other planets for resources, pursuant to taking over the governing bodies of such planets or encouraging resource-rich territories to break away and form "independent" dependencies that would actually be too weak to govern themselves or maintain independence without relying upon the patronage, power and ultimate control offered by the Romneyan Federation. The hapless inhabitants of looted planets were shut out from opportunities to use their own planet's resources, which were sold to the highest bidders in other star systems.
