I am on record as being in agreement with this sentiment.

I believe the brethren are quite adamant regarding the need for a rainy day fund. They don’t ever want to be caught ‘wanting’ again, as they have in the past.

But no rainy day fund survives when one feels the need to see to the needs of the little people. Give succor to one little person and all the other little people will manufacture needs that they want met.

Yes, indeed, the brethren know that once they accede to one plea, all will plead, and then it’s good-bye rainy day fund!

My wife has had a savings account ‘for a rainy day’ and it cannot be touched. I have asked many times what qualifies as ‘rainy day’ that would justify using the funds. She cannot define what or when it would ever be used.

It might as well not be there if it can’t be used.

My wife and the church have something in common.

It's just such an enormous amount of money. It makes me sick when I think about what good they could do with that much money.

Maybe they're saving up to buy the United States when it flounders, as they believe it will.

They are disobeying their own scriptures that they supposedly believe in. "Trust not in the arm of Flesh" the Lord commanded Israel when they were going to battle against their enemies. God never told his church to stock pile money, ammo, in fact it was Moses who raided the temple graineries (guarded by the priesthood of Egypt) for the poor people to have something to eat.

Let's raid those graineries again!

No shit. This is going to be one hell of a golden parachute for the top 15 liars and criminals of the LDS cult.
