Because no one in any of the jurisdictions (including the Feds) has filed a criminal charge against them.

But it’s likely they are going to face further questioning, to which it is their right to refuse to supply answers.

It’s all going to be about evidence, not conjecture.

I just read on KSL that Vallow has 5 days to produce the children or be held in contempt. I'm not holding my breath that she will do so. I feel in my heart of hearts those two children are not alive.

Yeah, I don't know if it's a state or county organization in Rexburg had the notice served on the new Mrs. Daybell there in Hawai'i that she had to produce the kids or evidence/proof of where they are. If the new Mrs. Daybell doesn't comply, the organization takes the matter before a judge, to ask that an order be issued to compel the new Mrs. Daybell to comply with the order.

The Rexburg organization then has to serve the order on the appropriate law enforcement agencies... I don't know if a blanket 'warrant' can be issued so that any law enforcement agency that stumbles across them will 'find' it in the system and then arrest/hold her for her contempt of that order.

This would not be a situation of every law enforcement agency in the United States telling their officers at every 'roll call' to be on the lookout for the new Mrs. Daybell.

Of course, Rexburg would call Hawai'i next Monday morning to let them know of the order and the failure to honor it and the coppers can go visit her and maybe take her into custody. But what then? Are they going to pay for the flight back, two or three seats, because she has to be escorted? The 'who pays?' question often is crucial.

So she shows up in front of a judge to respond to the allegation that she failed to honor the Rexburg demand to see the kids, and she remains mute. What then? Sure, the judge can tell her that she's going to be held in jail until she provides an answer. But how long would they hold her?

Because then the issue of Habeas Corpus arises:

In other words, a Federal Judge could be asked to set her free based on her detention being illegal, in that insufficient cause existed, or that the agency demanding the detention did not have the requisite authority.

And then ask yourself this, Are Mr. & Mrs. Daybell going to remain there till the end of the week?



In any event, make sure your stocks of popcorn and chocolate are meted for the task!

My thinking is that law enforcement is still gathering evidence and building a case and hoping Daybell and Vallow will trip up and expose more. The fact that they confiscated the car says a lot.

Sadly, I agree too. The children were witnesses to Charles Vallow's murder by Lori's brother, Alex. Then Alex dies under mysterious conditions. And Chad's wife dies under mysterious conditions.

Maybe it was all part of the "preparation", as in "Preparing a People" for the end of times.

Yup Twinker, I think you are correct. They need to grab these two and lock them up until they get some straight answers. They have proven they are flight risks.

They are guilty for not producing the kids as they were ordered in Idaho. Instead, they fled.

I feel bad for Charles. The guy fights for custody of his kids because his ex is nuts. Her brother Alex beats him up and breaks his ribs outside the courthouse after the hearing. He takes the kids to her house for a visit and gets gunned down by Alex in front of them. You just can’t win with crazy Mormon chicks. Famous last words of Brigham Young, BTW.

Tylee's dad was the one beaten up and tazed by Alex, Lori's brother, and ribs broken. He lived until he died in 2018 of a supposed heart attack. He was Lori's 3rd husband.

Charles Vallow is the 4th husband and JJs dad. He was shot (murdered) by Alex, Lori's brother.

Chad, the 5th husband, is alive currently. Well at least as of yesterday.

I known elderolddog is correct. I just wonder what is taking so long to find something to charge them with. I'd hate to see them get away.

Timothy McVeigh the OK city bomber was apprehended because the car he was driving didn't have any license plates, the story of that troopers arrest is (was?) online, quite a narrative.


Although the stories of people who evade apprehension are interesting, they're very rare these days bc of the internet & shared records between agencies.
With facial recognition, DNA, & other tools, anonymity is quickly waning as they learned in Hawaii...

(possibility, no evidence now) If Daybell suggested or told the the mom that he wanted or needed the kids 'out of the way' for him to hook up with her... I'd neutralize him myself, with pleasure.
