I grew up in the church. Activate, etc. but I never heard ordained men running around saying “l have Priesthood Powers.” It was not a term that was ever used. I am sure men said to their wives “I have the Priesthood and I am in control.” But I was taught that was not correct thinking.
Fir the past year all I hear from TBM women is they have “priesthood power too.” After Oakes talk and
Binghams talk last night I am sure that is all we are going to hear now.
To me it’s going to sound like kids in the play ground running around saying “see what I got and you have or have not got .” It has reduced the sacredness and importance of my ordination to the Priesthood. I wonder how many men in the church feel that way now. Sister Bingham wants equality based on her talk but notice how they give their personal power to Dusty Rusty.
Again I understand that some men have been creeps and used the Priesthood incorrectly.

From what I've read, women used the Priesthood more in the early days of the Church. Somewhere along the line, that was lost.

That’s what I remember too. Then it became a carrot they dangle in front of the young women to get the young men to volunteer for a sales job.

That trick doesn’t work anymore, so Rusty can backtrack.

missions for guys is merely a stop along the path to a temple marriage, this is 'more true' now that the protection of garments angle is pretty much forgotten....

So, guys get endowed, go on a mission to they can attract gals like their sisters who were TOLD to marry an RM in the temple...

If she's a blonde with big breasts & her daddy's rich, (and she fucks like a porn star,) So much the better!!

Does anyone now they’re exmormon look at the word “endowment” slightly differently? Why on earth did they call it that?

In the age of Internet Porn, you’d think Rusty would be inspired to act on that first. Or at least redesign the underwear to make it look less religio-fetish.

Well either he has no idea due to his level of purity, or he’s really into it.

Wait, I thought THAT was Moroni's promise. You mean it's not physical endowment - not that I'd need it of course, but I think perhaps now I won't be getting baptized, Elder Flom.

Remember that in the secret temple ritual, The Second Anointing, the woman has a role to play. After the husband has had his feet washed by an apostle, and anointed to be in a Godhood in the hereafter, the couple has the holy spirit of promise bestowed upon them and their calling and election (to the highest degree of the Celestial Kingdom) is made sure.

Then...the woman (in another room of the temple) washes her husbands feet and then puts her hands on his head and pronounces a blessing.

That ritual is where I believe the elite woman of the Mormon Church who have had this ordinance and given a blessing to their spouse are very comfortable in making the claim that "they have priesthood power too."

For more information on the subject read the account of Tom Phillips' "My Second Anointing Experience."

Oaks will say anything - and it's only HIS opinion which means absolutely nothing when you're alive or dead.

For a man of his position holding those views about the reality of the priesthood, I wouldn’t hold his views in high regard. He’s taking the easy way out. Metaphysical technology is just that. Technology that works for those who know how to handle it.

Conflating Mormonism’s selfish uses with selfless uses doesn’t help. Philips is prejudiced, as his words convey. That’s what institutional betrayal gets you. I’d have handled it worse.

Denying trans dimensional evil doesn’t make it go away. These parasitic structures designed to destroy our faith in Humanity (when wasn’t Mormonism trying to do that? Then you can’t sell God.) don’t happen by accident. Oh my fetch, when I think of the depraved ideology I was enmeshed in.

They tried to take my creator, by God, my being away from me and replace it with filth. Yeah, oops my ass. Better hang on as long as you can, judgement day won’t be pretty.

‘Twas grace that set me free. But your debt isn’t so easily forgiven. Sorry Wendy.

"President Joy D. Jones, who oversees the church’s Primary organization for children, addressed the role of women in the church’s history...

...The role of women, she said, is to receive continuing revelation. Jones acknowledged that when she was younger, she didn’t realize that, as a woman, she had access 'to the power of the priesthood.' (Only men and male youths are ordained to priesthood offices in the faith.) It comes, she said, 'through covenants, made first in the waters of baptism and then within the walls of holy temples.' ”

I’m a little disappointed that Rusty isn’t brain dead. His endorsement of the priesthood power of women is both politically expedient and useful. I didn’t think he had it in him.

Not that it makes those who were excommunicated for pushing those same ideas feel much better.

Having access to the powers of the priesthood is like having access to a personal unicorn. It's of limited utility and only impresses people who think they have unicorns too.

If you’re gonna ride, ride the white unicorn. Someone should pen a new hymn.

It was a drug joke. How unhip are you? My allusion to Mormonism as a hallucinogenic substance may have missed too. Mormons spend their lives anesthetized in a culturally-induced high that completely misses the point of living. Life is suffering. Transcending that isn’t exporting it to heaven, it’s living on life’s terms and learning to love it.

It’s not wanting some divine retribution. My comments about the GAs and judgement day pertain to them. They are chained to their beliefs. As we have all hopefully learned, nobody can break those chains but you. Oh you think Spartacus is dead? I got news.
