“For all whose health may permit, let us fast, pray, and unite our faith once again,” said President Russell M. Nelson in his Saturday evening general conference address. “Let us prayerfully plead for relief from this global pandemic.
“I invite all, including those not of our faith, to fast and pray on Good Friday, April 10, that the present pandemic may be controlled, caregivers protected, the economy strengthened, and life normalized.”

If prayer and fasting were effective ways to "relieve us from this global pandemic" and "Control the pandemic, protect caregivers, strengthen the economy and normalize life." wouldn't the first one have done the job?
Instead, the President came out the day after the first fast and said we could lose 100,000-240,000 Americans the day after. Now it turns out they overestimated that figure drastically and social distancing is working to flatten the curve, not Jesus or God, but obeying the GD law and following what scientists and experts have been telling us all along.
Maybe we should fast and pray that stupid people should quit being stupid by eating pangolins and bats, which both carry Corona Virus which turns deadly when it jumps to humans through consumption?
