I'm tracing a shipment on FedEx, it's telling me the last report was from a place in Idaho, but not along the freeway...

Name of this place: NOTUS

is that like... NOT USA? not a part of our country?

this place barely exists, so WHY the stupid name???

Notus is a spot on the map in Canyon County, Idaho just west of Boise. Not sure how a FedEx shipment could get lost there especially since my idea of what constitutes a city is based on something entirely difference than incorporation papers. Rome, London, Paris, Notus doesn't quite ring true. Since I live in Canyon County, I have likely driven through it but not that I would have noticed.

Idaho & a few other Western states allow triple trailers on the interstates, that necessitates 'drop & pick' spots where changes to doubles are made because Washington state doesn't allow triples...

According to an Idaho Press article from 1986, Notus got its name from the daughter of a railroad official. The daughter reportedly thought "notus" was of Native American origin and meant "it's all right." The town of Notus was almost known as 'Lemp'

I'm guess a date asked her (daughter of RR official) if she enjoyed sex; she said "YES! I DO!!!, but NOT US!"

The o is long so it’s pronounced more like “notice.”

We used to drive there from Boise to buy our illegal firecrackers and bottle rockets. We could even get M-80s: “A quarter stick of dynamite.”
