I hate this pandemic to no end....
But seeing the churches (especially the CULT) empty makes is almost worthwhile...
Their priesthood/healing power is useless..

I get no schadenfreude, whatsoever, as much as I hate religion.

I'm pretty sure I'll feel some when the players who ignored this pandemic when it could have been contained get to experience the consequences of that. But it probably won't happen. Those people get tested daily and at the first positive sign will have the best that medical science has to offer raining down on them. They won't be just one of dozens of dying people dying alone. But a little schadenfreude will still be felt by millions, whether they want to admit it or not.

I never thought I’d say this, but I’d go back to church if it meant an end to this COVID mess.

Different churches respond in different ways. My church has regular services on Facebook Live and Mixlr. It seems the on-line attendance exceeds the previous on-site attendance by 20-30%. And various work volunteers are getting the place spiffed up.

I like to think that a theology emphasizing God's grace and love promotes involvement, as opposed to legalism and obedience.

Because only the buildings are empty and the buildings are not the church.

We may be seeing just the beginning of this COVID disaster. A year from now, Quin, any schadenfreude probably will not be the emotion that you feel.

The mormon church will shoot itself in the foot very efficiently with or without a pandemic.

I too underestimate the stupidity of people.

  C'mon!  Are you saying that you don't get a bit of an emotional up-tick when the lord's afossils screw things up either for themselves or for the membership?

  I personally think that we'll see an increase in these opportunities for exmo schadenfreude.  And I'm not going to deny myself that pleasure.

I loved his waving! I agree with bradley. I may even go back if this would just end, not that I would believe, just that if it would change how things if I just went to church, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Has anyone heard from the Rusty since conference? Is he not leading his people?

To me it's affirming that a virus is bigger than god. I've always said as much. The proof is in the air right now.

There is not one thing that would get me back to church...any church as a member of a congregation. NOTHING.
