For one Moscow Mule:

-1 copper mug (a large rocks glass can also work)

-2 oz. vodka

-1 oz. lime juice (fresh squeezed is ideal, but I won't give you grief if it's bottled lime juice)

-1/2 to 1 full 12 oz. bottle of ginger beer. Not ginger ale, ginger beer. This I WILL give you grief for.

Fill mug or glass with ice. Pour in the vodka and lime juice. Stir to combine. Pour ginger beer to top of glass. Enjoy responsibly.

we went with strawberry daiquiris. My wife and kids had the nonalcoholic variety The alcohol that would have gone into all of theirs went in mine.

I'm having my usual glass of chilled chardonnay. Sometimes in the summer I prefer a pinot gris, pinot grigio, etc. instead.

Honestly, it depends on the person. Some people are better off not drinking. But many of us are fine with it. I've been drinking alcoholic beverages my entire life. I don't drink to excess, and my PCP has never complained about it.

And, believe it or not, covid summer that it is, the Yankees and the Mets play tonight. A bit of much needed normalcy.

Unfortunately I now find myself in an invironment where I am not at liberty to enjoy my weekly rum and coke.
I am hopeful of aquiring a car shortly, mine blew up on me, and then occasionally I will be able to enjoy an adult beverage.
Due to my loooooong and sad (bitch--moan) story I am now living with one of my children so I have to go along with their program.
Maybe one day I will be on my own again and can do as I please.
