By now everyone has probably heard that Bill and Melinda Gates have filed for divorce.

Ironically, the media is now making a big deal about a well-known agreement the two made before marriage that allowed Bill to vacation every year with his former girlfriend.

Even more bizarre, is that the internet is abuzz with rumors that their translator is somehow responsible for their current breakup. Much of that is apparently in China and written in Chinese.

This morning there was a story in English duplicated across many sites but credited to Fox Business News. It's links supporting the rumor were all to sites in Chinese. But more stories seem to be popping up in English. Apparently there has also been a storm of internet searches pairing the two names, presumably from China. (???)

I'm not saying the rumors are true, and I don't speak or read Chinese, but it's an interesting detail from the anti/ex-mormon perspective that she's a BYU grad (at least IMO).

Anyway, it seems that there are more reports in English now than this morning (now including denials). I'm not going to include any more links, because more and more are popping up.

I didn't see "Homewrecker" as a skill but I did see "Hot Pot & Dumplings."

I had heard that

Honestly, I did NOT know about THAT.

Most of what I knew / thought about Bill Gates was that I do not like him, because of my dealings with MS Windows and a few other (problematic for me) things. However that is quite interesting, so I thank you for making me aware of it.

Sorry!!! SORRY !!! but I have to go with the "vacation with the old (original) girl friend every year" marriage clause as the STILL reigning the most bizarre (most unusual) issue in the current Bill Gates/ Melinda Gates situation.

.....and still more intriguing than the Chinese translator deal (SORRY AGAIN!!!! ) is how China was dead set against ever using MS OS at one time, but Bill Gates *somehow* managed to resolve that issue (????????)

ummmmmm it would seem that either she is or she is NOT,
and that fact would stand without qualification/ regardless of certain sentiments, so that things like pro MORmON or "anti MORmON" are really irrelevant to the overall fact. (??????)

I read one article that said that Bill gates was good friends with Jeffrey Epstein. His wife really didn't approve of that friendship. Who knows how much of that contributed to their divorce?

I stopped having respect for Bill Gates when he used Microsoft's huge financial strength and control of Windows, to destroy his competition, Netscape. His justification and doubling down on saying what did is right, made me decide I don't respect him anymore, no matter how ritch he and Microsoft would become.

Twitter was alive today with speculations about Gates and Epstein. And that Melissa was unhappy about the "friendship."

So, take your pick. The old girlfriend or the guy friend. I'm sure there will be new theories tomorrow.

Bill did plenty of other (bad) things, that bad and worse, plenty to make him unrespectable many times over.

Part time polygamy? The missionaries should have tried harder to get him on board. Tithing is still a tax write off.

She presented Bill with the blue papers of death.

It must be difficult to be married to someone who not only thinks they're God but wants to play God too.

Apparently she first persuaded him to set up the Foundation as a massive tax write off.
