I feel really bad for anyone who has committed suicide. I have been listening to a lot of the Mormon Stories podcasts lately.
In this one linked to below, a strong case is made to try to get the church to stop publishing the Miracle of Forgiveness, by Spencer W. Kimball. Dehlin explains clearly and with credibility about how this book has caused many people to commit suicide and a disproportionate number of them, committing suicide because they are gay and read this book which led to their suicide. Dehlin bases his arguements on his training as a Clinical Psychologist with a PHD on the subject. Hopefully this information will alleviate some suffering and help everyone to love who they are. There is some good information here for heterosexual too. But the most passionate and compelling arguements seem to be directed at helping gay people to accept and love themselves and their own sexuality instead of needing to repent of it.
