Were any of you ever told 'return with honor' crap when you would go on dates or to scool or any other time parents, grandparents or church leaders wanted to emotionally manipulate you?

To be funny, when I let the dogs out to go do their business outside, I tell them to return with honor. That drives my wife crazy, but it is such a simple thing that gives me a subversive laugh. They do seem to return with honor every time though.

Reminds me of the "remember who you are" line too. I have always told the kids "remember who I am" line which confuses them and gives me the same satisfaction as the return with honor nonsense.

I knew of a second counselor in a bishopric who would tell the deacons, on fast Sunday, “Return with money.”

There is no independent, verifiable PROOF that I ever transferred a $5 bill from a fast offering envelope to my pocket and then used it to buy an A&W Root Beer Float the following day.

But to answer the question asked: Yes… Some money.

The tax collector should always get a share of the take. Bible says so.

In my time it was "remember who you are and what you stand for."

I'll tell that to my kids... remember who I am and what I stand for.

It is the common admonition for young people leaving on missions.

My TBM sister had "Return With Honor" posted on the inside of her front door when her kids were teens.
