An old coworker died of Covid today.

Damned if he'd get any vaccine--"Nobody's gonna tell me what to do."

I remember him in his bullet-proof vest.

Clearly, he mistook scientists for the bad guys.

My nephew doesn't believe in mandates. The highway patrol officer suggested that he tell that to the judge when nephew was ticketed for driving 95 in a 60 mph zone.

Nobody told him he had to die, so I suppose he was right.

Everyone told him he had to live. Guess he showed them.

Despite his stubbornness, in his work, he always seemed so good to people.

What does *good to people* mean anymore?

Appearing to care in light of the growing devaluation of human life as our number steadily increase.

Yes. Showing that you are "good to people" is for celebrities to get press and isn't the same as actually just being good to people.

I found out a lot of wonderful things my dad had done for people that no one ever knew. Made me see him in a whole new light and love him more.

Wisdom usually comes in with age because it takes a long to to grow appreciative of what other people deal with in human existence. No angels need to take notes because they walk among us.

people I know, but I'm sure he would have gotten the vaccine and I didn't hesitate. You have to overlook the VOICES and decide for yourself. There are always things in life that we can be stubborn about. Maybe I shouldn't have chosen to have my babies in a hospital. So many women at the time and now talk about home births and how sterile a hospital is. As I told other women, my kids were transverse lie and breech. If I had chosen a midwife and trying to have my babies at home, we all probably would have died. You have to use your head rather than saying if Biden tells me I have to do it, I'm not going to. That's about as stupid of an excuse as I can think of.

Exactly, cl2.

Good call too about using a hospital when necessary.

I like this phrase you used: "You have to overlook the VOICES". Good principle! I might have to steal it. There is definitely a lot of noise out there.

Once at Public Health, a 75 y/o guy brought his 95 y/o-ish parents in to the flu-shot clinic. On their way out, the little mom said to her 75 y/o son, “Put your coat on, Honey.”

I don’t think I’ll ever forget her.

Beautiful.

My daughter is 31. When we're walking outside I'll say, "I'm cold. Put your jacket on."

Haha

My mom was 5 foot nothing and thin. My brother is 6'5" and broad. Every time he headed outside without a coat on Mom would call out "You'll catch your death!" even in mid-summer. We'd all laugh.

Same strong feelings that a mother has towards a child that dies before their child's birth.
