Besides loving the concept of being able to gain different leadership opportunities which they would likely not get such elsewhere, it seems narcs like raising kids in Mormonism because it helps them (the narc), first and foremost.

Raising up ultra obedient kids who will do their bidding for them, be nice to them, even if they (the narcs) don't really deserve it etc. is one reason why TSCC appeals to them.

If you can't control yourself, control everybody else.

This is a true example of "absolute moralism"

My guess is he's attempting to describe me, calling me a narcississississit...    In other words, a sufferer of narcissississim!!    What?    It isn't always about me??

AKA narcissistic personality disorder

per Google:

A disorder in which a person
has an inflated sense of self-
    importance.

    Narcissistic personality disorder
is found more commonly in men.
The cause is unknown but likely
    involves a combination of genetic
    and environmental factors.

    Symptoms include an excessive
    need for admiration, disregard
    for others' feelings, an inability
to handle any criticism and a
    sense of entitlement.

Cures, other than death, are still being investigated . . .

EOD, I don't think that any kind of "cure" will work on a narcissist. I used to be married to one, and he doesn't think he has a problem. The truth of it was that he was an abusive monster.

At first I thought your mention of "narcs" meant those with an preference/obsession for gratuitous tattling on others.
