The church was crowing about how, of all the buildings that were damaged and destroyed, the temple still stood proud and undamaged. Ergo, the church is true!! It is an awful thing to dwell on even for a minute or two when there is so much need and destruction, and when the church is sitting on so much cash that they don't intend to use.

No! Did they?

Completely, absolutely, unbelievably tone deaf. To say the least.

Here it is on Google Maps: https://www.google.com/maps/@50.4049111,30.3951705,359m/data=!3m1!1e3

It appears to be quite close to a major airport that may have been shelled by the Russians, according to Wikipedia.

I don't know exactly where the battle lines are now, but I believe that this is still Ukrainian controlled territory. However, the temple is a large building in an open area near a major military target (the above airport). There is a good chance it will be damaged sometime during the conflict.

Then they can claim persecution.

Wow. For a short-term Mormon, you seem to have mastered the religion's logic!

TSCC would blow it up themselves rather than use it to shelter people.

You would think they'd open up the basement as a shelter and make it available for charities on the ground to use.

First and foremost is the decent thing to do plus they get free pr from it.

Crawing about how God's protected it and let everything else burning is tone deaf in the extreme but the usual playing to masses you'd come to expect.

It is already full of dead people.
