For those who weren't in LDS inc. Or are of a different generation: The Big changes aren't really ever "announced" (I do have one exception and that was Blacks get the priesthood); but rather "gaslit" away. Examples: 1) Merging the Corporation of the Office of the Bishopric of the Church into the First Presidency. This was a HUGE money, power grad. The Office of the Bishop of the Church had full control of Deseret Industries, Welfare Farms, etc... Now everything is controlled by the President. 2) The dissolvement of the Church Patriarch 3) The Temple Ordinance changes 4) The changing of garment styles, fabric and how/when they are to be worn 5) Women able to pray in church/stake conferences/now general conferences 6) rewording and new description of "translating" gold plates & papyrus is now Inspired translations 7) Reclassifying original inhabitants of pacific islanders, American aboriginal people to not "all" being Lamanite 8 ) The loss of "seer stones" Urim/Thumin into just "a seer stone" 9) the loss of social/art marketing, support and encouragement; no more RoadShows, Art/Talent shows, no more concerts or traveling plays/groups for Saturday's Warrior, My Turn on Earth, etc... The changing emphasize on Lawyers/Business running the church: Proclamation on the Family created a creed/religious belief that never existed in the church before. They only had D&C 132 on marriage, eternal covenant w/God was eternal, right? but then to be able to add to the Amicus Brief when churches were fighting same-sex marriage in Hawaii, the Lawyers had to prove that LDS inc had always taught One Man/One Woman philosophy/religous creed. The defense of the sanctity of the confessional as more people were "repenting" of spousal abuse, child molestation, grifters/con-man activities, etc...to their Bishops and Stake Leaders; but no quarter was given for intellectuals, feminists, homosexuals--because that would be taking Freedom of Religion/Speech from the Corporation...
