I previously recall that the church took out a full advertisement in the Salt Lake papers to hype their upcoming snooze fest.

If they didn't run full page ads then I suppose it was not $$$ well spent.

With 100 billion supposedly owned by Jesus I don't know how they can't spend millions advertising their conferences. It seems like they are cheating their zombie lord if they don't.

But if they are insecure about their messages it shows where their hearts are.

My mission gave away thousands of pictures of Jesus and thousands of free copies of the bible. Probably less than 2% of "free Jesus" resulted in convert baptisms. But I think it really boosted the church's PR image.

It really opened the door to first discussion meetings and when tracting in neighborhoods- it was a kick to see the LDS Jesus in a nice frame staring at you when trying to get in the door.

Obviously it was a bust- don't know what kind of numbers the missionary dept was expecting but the free jesus program only lasted 3-4 months.

And it was for Jesus. Funny how they can tell the world they are all about Jesus but rarely put his money where their mouths are.

I still am shocked that the church's ga-ga Jesus statue that was center stage at Temple Square has been warehoused out of sight.

Unless I am obtuse, everything that I have read about TS reconstruction suggests that it is UNKNOWN if the Christus statue will be restored or even publicly displayed.

Kind of odd for a church that is supposed to be about Jesus.

And a church that made that image it's copyrighted logo.
