More details of the church sheltering sex abusers and the church's practice of "do what we pretend to do, not what we really do."

I can't even begin to understand how their defense, "we want what's best for everyone" can even be considered.

The story does a good job as an overview, including the church's use of existing law to protect themselves in terms of the civil action brought against the church by the rapist's victims (his daughters).  An AZ appellate court is backing them up, i.e., the church followed the law.

Here's the kicker:  The rapist would likely still be raping them today, with the church still 'protecting' him, but for his posting videos of the acts on the internet.  He was tracked down, arrested, and committed suicide.


But we can all take solace in knowing that the church means well; ghawd wants what's best for all concerned, except maybe the victims, but they seldom have the priesthood, so . . .

I think it's awesome how Joe has evolved over time from an average looking 1840's man to the strikingly handsome fellow he is today.
Just look at how he's depicted in Mormon art and movies. Talk about aging well!
