So sad. Still young. Only child of Priscilla and Elvis had a cardiac arrest and died, age 54.

Do Mormons still wait a year to do the dead dunking for deceased persons they don't even know?

Yes. They still follow that rule. Except when they don't.

Even after a year, isn't it supposed to be approved by a family member?

I believe it's supposed to be like 10 years; but if a family member puts in their name, vitals it can be within a year.

Which is why Bill Maher had to create the "unbaptism" ceremony.

I think the one year wait isn't a random length of time; it's a legal, CYA, rule. When someone dies, by default, their estate owns the rights to their name, likeness, etc. for a year after death. After that, the estate needs to file paperwork. If they don't, after that year, the church is free to use their name for baptisms, publication in their post-mortal rolls, etc. without any legal consequence.

Probably Sheri or Wendy.

They probably will wrestle each other for the honors.

How is the church supposed to decide which husband she wants to be sealed to?

RIP, Lisa Marie.

I know right? I'll give the Corporation's pat answer...."It'll be taken care during the millennium" "It'll be figured out in the afterlife."

Here's the problem though, only Michael Jackson is dead and so unless the other husband's sign off, no one can stand in proxy for him. Now if Marie was a man, she could be sealed to all her husbands.

BTW: Michael's not really dead; no he finally became a white guy in Romania named Bogdan Ioan; Look up Earth Song and/or Billie Jean sung by Bogdan. It's the Elvis still lives conspiracy all over again.

They sealed Albert Einstein to both of his wives. So can’t they just seal her to all her husbands? (ducks and runs for cover)

It doesn't work that way. Men get to have harems but women do not.

What that means is that in theory Elvis could be married to several of the underage girls he slept with but Lisa Marie is only eligible for one bed mate.

Wasn’t Priscilla several months shy of her fifteenth birthday when her romance with Elvis began?

She died of a broken heart.

I feel that perhaps my remarks were a bit premature as Lisa Marie only just passed away.

I'm sorry if my thread comes across as being insensitive.

On another note, I didn't know that her son had died by suicide fairly recently. She was obviously grief-stricken and it's all so sad.

It seems true enough that happiness isn't guaranteed to follow riches.

Yikes! I'm so dense that from the subject I thought it meant who will take over? As in, perhaps she was involved in philanthropy or charitable work. I assumed the other was lament that some morgbot will inevitably submit her name (if they haven't already).

FWIW, I didn't think it was insensitive. More like pointing out that TSCC will ultimately be insensitive about it.

I think she has some surviving daughters who might carry on whatever work she was doing. I feel bad they lost their brother and now their mom.

I meant work for the dead in the Mormon temple. Isn't that what they call it?

Right. For some reason I switched subjects. BTW, I didn't think you were being insensitive.

It probably makes someone feel real super special when they get to do the work for someone famous.

That's OK, dagny. I was just checking to see if I was understanding correctly. I note that GBS above also thought of her actual work.

Did she formally renounce her scientology membership? If not, LDS Corp will have to fight LRH Corp for her eternal affairs.
