According to a post on r/exmormon, one of the bright, chipper ladies on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City left the church and wrote a book about it.
She titled the book, "Bad Mormon." It is set for release on Feb. 07 of this year.
https://www.amazon.com/Bad-Mormon-Heather-Gay/dp/1982199539Earlier, back in Aug. of 2021, the author's company, Heathertainment, filed a notice of intent to register "Bad Mormon" as a trademark. The church immediately filed a notice in opposition, which contained the following, which distasteful as it is, I will quote directly: "Blah blah blah blah. Blah blah blah? Blah blah blah blah blah!!"
But Heathertainment didn't back down!! No way!! So apparently, the church filed its formal notice of opposition before the November of 2022 deadline. If the parties haven't, or don't, settle the issue, the matter will probably be heard in early 2024 ...
Apparently, mormonism does not accept that the two words, "bad" and "mormon" can be associated!! ...Unless it's used by a speaker during General Conference, calling on the black sheep to repent. Also, confusing as the logic is, while they reject the word mormon, they want to retain control of it?!?
Apparently allowing the two words to be used together unfairly infringes on the church's completely untarnished reputation and makes Jesus cry.
https://www.mandourlaw.com/bad-mormon-trademark-dispute-real-housewives-lds/I want to go on the record as having been a good mormon, cuz I repented...and so my record was expunged.
"Bad Mormons Stay in the Church; Good Mormons Correct Themselves by Leaving" would be a good title!
