Giving (‘ordaining’) women the (imaginary) ph would bring vitality & greatly more balance to ChurchCo BUT it’s would break the illusion of Power & Authority now women into the old-timer & fundy culture of exclusivity…
Guess which is more important to ChurchCo & their revenue stream.
At some point, they may have to water down priesthood responsibilities, maybe allow the young women to pass the sacrament. Back in 2019 in my former home ward, there were only two or three young men to pass and bless the sacrament. The young men were augmented by two "elders" and three high priests. One high priest was using a walking cane and he was quite unbalanced with trays.
It has regularly been discussed that women already "pass" trays when sitting in the congregation. Some wards just don't have enough men to do all the jobs.
I've heard (brace yourself!!) that there are times when a female will take the tray from a deacon, at the door to the "nursing moms' room," and do the passing therein.
