I speculate that it finally dawned on church management that the church can make a profit on all their young women campground facilities.

One time my boy scout troop made an overnight camp on undeveloped church property. Someone called the church facilities manager and he and the police stopped to run us off the property. An agreement to not have a campfire in the rain allowed us to stay the night~ truly a miserable camping experience of cold dinner, wet clothing and leaking tents.

So now, people can rent the church owned campgrounds if (a very big if) the church does not have a young women's camp scheduled.

Here's the church's expected, semi-snarky response.

“The primary purpose of the recreational properties is not for family reunions or other non-Church activities,” the letter said. “Members are only able to reserve the camps for family or personal use if there are remaining reservation slots available after all the needs of official Church programs are met.”

If Hell is full, will the CK lower its admission standards?

Friends church is open about loaning tables and such for reunions and such. Open to letting folks use the building - a donation, no set fee.

It is just being good to the members who support the place.

That seems like a perfectly rational and reasonable policy. If it was purchased for YW use, they get first crack at using it.

There's a problem with that??
