Even Rusty can't be bothered to attend General Conference anymore. Bad back allegedly.

Maybe for the next meeting, Wendy, or Sharon Eubank or Yuval Noah Harari can deliver his General Conference message instead on PBS.

Jeff Holland won't be there either, but at least he has a decent excuse.

Rusty has an excellent excuse. His bad back is the result of a fall. A fall when you are 99 years old is no small thing. For many elderly people, it can be the start of a downward slide. Plus, it can take an older person much longer to recover from even a muscle injury than it would a younger person.

It's rare for me to feel sorry for the Q15, but there are times when I think that church practice amounts to elder abuse.

I think we can agree that most of them should have retired years ago. Bad trouble or no back trouble. Rusty knew what he got into though, the man's an egomaniac. He's the kind of man who would happily abolish General Conference just to be different like he's renamed/changed most things he can lay his hands on.

A fall resulting in long term incapacitation in a 99 year old, is a pretty good predictor of loss of balance, motor function and mental decline. How many times have we seen President X, will not be attending due to Y, and they are actually at death's door.

Many years ago I was friends with one of Ezra Benson's grandsons, when it was announced that Benson was going to be indisposed again at conference time. My friend told me his grandfather was pretty much a vegetable, and had no role in governing the church, but the official party line was he was still mentally sharp and leading the church.

"there are times when I think that church practice amounts to elder abuse."

But it's self-inflicted abuse. At least he's not lying to his bishop about it.

I guess Dallin H Oaks will have to announce what **** towns get a pre-fab temple. That’s the climax of the whole boring show.

We need to root for Tonopah, but I heard a rumor that Ely will get theirs first.

Two thoughts here Naoon;

Firstly, It wouldn't surprise me a bit to see Wendy give Rusty's talk for him. Shirley this has crossed her/their minds as an innovating way of getting attention.

Secondly, Rusty can get more ego-attention accolades by using an injury to stay home and watch conference in comfort instead of being confined in front of an audience & cameras and not being able to go pee if needed.

Thirdly, Wendy speaking for Rusty speaking for the lord seems like a roundabout way of disseminating holy direction. Or maybe this could be a precursor to divine revelation for women to have a more active role in mormon leadership without disturbing the other top dogs.

I bet Rusty still announces the temples via zoom.

All the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't put Rusty together again.

What happened to Priesthood blessings? Rusty and his friends supposedly have Jesus-level mojo. Is it time to let the horses have a try?

At least this means that members can now refer to him as a "Fallen Prophet" without being ex'd. ;)
