Do they thank the actual donors? Seldom at best.

They've had Plenty of time/opportunities to repudiate-disown Joey, Brigham, and others, Why haven't they done that?
In 'Rough Stone Rolling', did the author mention that Joe hooked up with a 14 y.o. girl?
Did he mention that Joe (reportedly) was 'sealed' (yeah, right) to other women before Emma?
HOW about the top layer of coins that proved there was sufficient capital to fund/start a "bank" in Nauvoo?

Not only does this go against the Book of Mormon's own teachings on "kingmen", it suggests might is right. If someone is in power, do what they tell you and don't question them.
