Actually telling us what the article is about so we have enough information to decide for ourselves if we are interested is often an effective approach.
I normally don't even click on threads where the subject line gives zero indication of what the post is about. I only clicked this time because I was thinking "I bet he doesn't even tell us in the body of the post." Turns out I was right.
It's not so much that I react poorly to posts that try to manipulate me into clicking on a URL by withholding information (aka click-baiting), it's more that I just don't react, period. Probably saves me a lot of time.
