They retire when GOD decides. There usually isn't much notice.

Yes, a very happy retirement to spend with Claire. Mine is also on the horizon (18 months).

On a personal note, as a fascinated/horrified nevermo when I first came to the board, Steve's thorough posts with historical references and commentary were crucial to helping me understand (from the outside only, I know, because I shall always be a nevermo ;-) the strange, twisted thing that is mormonism.
