When I told RSP last week I was resigning from the church, she asked me if I still wanted my VT's. I told her they hadn't been here in 9 months so I wouldn't know if they decided to *officially* stop coming. No response after that.

Here in our branch our VT and HM are slacker. Maybe because we are smaller and we are in Michigan? I am sure Utah TBM take their jobs more seriously.

Anyone else experience this too?

Text her back and say "who is this? I think you have the wrong number, what the fuck is a VT?"

I wanted to do something like that very badly, but since im still living with my mom right now,IShe would have been extremely angry & embarrassed. I just ignored the messages instead.

They are not slacking, but rather avoiding misery.

I know why they don't show up. It's the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the Detroit Redwings are in it!

Just sayin'...

My experience of HT

The most active members are given the most active HT's

when HT's start slacking and stop visiting members, their commitments are passed on to other HT's who actually go and do visit.
"you've worked so hard, we are going to give you more work to do"

both of these situations lead to the fact that:
less-actives are visited less often, unless they are on some sort of 'reactivation' program.

They're hit or miss here in the branch I used to attende here in New Jersey. Sometimes they call and visit. Sometimes if I'm not home, they'll just leave the message with a note scribbled on the back in the mail box. Or sometimes they just don't show up at all for months at a time. I didn't have a clue who my vt were for like 3 years. What I think is dumb is that my mom & I have 2 different sets of VT, yet we live at the same exact address.

I know who he is and he's a dick. He won't come over and personally I'm glad.

No HTs or VTs in months, and I actually don't mind if they come over.

I suspect that they don't because they are not allowed to teach in the home, so what's the point?

They probably spend their time going to other actually active members' houses.

Funny that HTing idea. Go teach members that are already converted.

Years ago one of our HT's was also the bishop. He actually fell asleep while his partner gave a lesson. Funny and sad at the same time. This young guy had a family, a busy job, was the bishop and a home teacher. This cult makes good hearted people do stupid things.

Sorry (and I have been chastized for this)I went slightly off topic on my other post. Anyway, the answer is "No" for the most part VT's do not show up and that's a good thing
