There were a couple of postings on here in the past day or two about it.

I believe you could find the story on the SLC Trib or KSL websites.

REeally shows you how TSCC will only obey which laws of the land are convenient for them, just like polygamy.

What makes you think they obey the law of the land regarding polygamy? I've heard too many stories to believe it to be so.

Is doing this an offense that gets people excommunicated?

The answer is quite obviously no. Why would you expect them to?

It's bringing public humiliation upon the Church--tarnishing it's image--as if LDS Inc needed any help in that regard...

Why shouldn't they ex him? Perhaps because it isn't billed as an excommunicable offense.

I find it interesting that both Mormons AND exMormons tend to make up Mormon doctrine and procedure based completely on their own personal feelings.

If the Morg leaders don't abide by their own list and seem to make up reasons for Ex'ing individuals, how can the rest of us (Exmos AND Mobots) be expected to KNOW what "official doctrine" is on the subject?

This Bishop publically violated a commandment of God (Honesty).
Many have been Exed for bringing a lot less harm to the Church.

I'm no fan of the kolobian church, but immigr@tion has nothing to do with the "law of the land."

Law of the land is "commonlaw."

Immigr@tion laws are Uniform Commerical Code (UCC) and fall under admiralty/maritime jurisdiction: law of the sea.

Just sayin'...

It's a good point about not being honest in his dealings with his fellow men, though.

Never thought of it that way...
