Email from TBM relative . . . Gag, Sputter . . .

Here's the heading:

FW: "THIS" is why I LOVE the church & its members!!!

It was a sappy story about a kid helping a disabled kid. Nice but the implication that it takes being an LDS kid to do something kind and compassionate makes me want to gag.

And further, all of the addresses of the other recipients were public school email addresses. Example:XXX @ [district] k12.org.

Could that be proper anywhere but in Utah??

For your relative's information...

I know many kind, compassionate children in Utah--who are definitely not members of the morg.

And yes, this kind of line blurring is pretty common in Utah. One time I was observing a 6th grade class and I actually witnessed a teacher saying, "And when you go on YOUR missions..." I could hardly believe my ears!

My husband's LDS kids disowned him in a really shitty way simply because he stopped being Mormon. From what I've read on this board, it seems to me that LDS kids are every bit capable of being mean and nasty as anybody else.
