Hey marments, training your scout leaders makes a difference.

Be prepared.

I shudder to think what would have happened had they been LDS.

The article sez: “Six Louisiana Boy Scouts and two adults”

Had they been LDS the article would have said: “an undetermined number of Mormon Boy Scouts and one adult”

The article sez: “feasted on jambalaya, eggs and grits”

Had they been LDS the article would have said: “subsisted on a shared bag of trail mix”

The article sez: “they never feared camping in an area where 20 people died in a flash flood last summer”

Had they been LDS the article would have said: “they had no idea they were camping in an area where 20 people died in a flash flood last summer”

The article sez: “selected Arkansas as an alternative because of last week's tornadoes”

Had they been LDS the article would have said: “selected Arkansas because they had planned no other alternative“

The article sez: “They packed in enough food and water that they could have stayed for another three or four days”

Had they been LDS the article would have said: “They failed to pack in enough food and water”

The article sez: “All the Scouts wore red "Scouts of Lafayette" hooded sweatshirts”

Had they been LDS the article would have said: “All the Scouts were dressed like they were going to the cinema”

The article sez: “the boys from Troop 162 offered a textbook example of what to do when camping, including leaving a detailed plan with a Scout leader who didn't make the trip”

Had they been LDS the article would have said: “the boys from LDS Troop 666 offered a textbook example of what not to do when camping, including failing to leave a detailed plan with a Mormon leader who didn't make the trip”

The article sez: “The parents waited Monday night at a local church”

Had they been LDS the article would have said: “The parents waited Monday night huddled in a minivan talking to their Bishop on a cell phone”

The article sez: “The Scouts were experienced backpackers for their age — 14 on average”

Had they been LDS the article would have said: “The Scouts were inexperienced backpackers for their age — because the Mormon Church does not allow Scouts under the age of 12 to camp overnight”

Training? We don’t need no stinking training. We have the Mormon Priesthood!

Mormon Scouting = NOT Scouting

Scooter had to share with Scooter's troop.

Hey Ziller, if Scooter ever makes it back deep as far as Grapeland or Crocket, Scooter will give Ziller a hollah.

Ziller:

Hysterical, but true. Never found an LDS Eagle who was worth the damn Eagle Scout badge!!! My son (an Eagle) attended a local troop (From a Presbyterian troop) and could run circles around those idiots at LDS troop 615 in Charlotte, NC. Those stuffed shirt Dads playing at scouting were truly dumb as a bag of rocks...
