Some people sure get sensitive when Joseph Smith's name is used

I don't want to get into the debate over the subject in this news story. I only want to show how silly the LDS media can be.

The story was on the use of the name Geronimo in the recent military operation against terrorism.

I tried to post this comment: "If the message had said "Joseph Smith EKIA" it would not have been a problem either."

It was disapproved. So I went to the Deseret News story and posted it there.

It was approved, but about 20 minutes later was removed and I received an email that it had been denied.

Lol. They allow posters to claim that the American Indian are being too sensitive but they will not allow the use of an example that would personalize the situation for their readers.

Never ever suggest the misuse of the beloved LDS prophet's name!

Used to play a certain first person shooter video game online

under the name "Joseph SMiths 33rd Wife" and had little or no problem with it till I tried to play on a server with a Mormon admin/moderator.

Told me to change my name.
I asked why
Said it was disrespectful and anti-Mormon
Told him I was Mormon (technically I am) and that Joseph really did have 33 wives.

Got booted off the server. Had to come back under the name Zelph The Destroyer.

OH well. Some people have no sense of humor.

When I was a kid we were having sloppy joes for supper, and I thought it would be clever to call them sloppy Joseph Smiths. Wow! You'd think I was wearing a Mohammed t-shirt in Iran or something.
