Cleaning the chapel

I'm FB friends with a young gay Mormon who hangs out at a gay sports bar I frequent. This morning, he posted "Cleaning — at The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints."

The responses from his other friends:

"f that"
"Why???"
"They make you clean the place too???"

Not sure why he is still active Mormon, but the reaction by his friends is less than encouraging.

Hmmm, having a hard time when a single sentence contains the words "Mormon," "gay," and "bar." They just don't seem to fit too well.

Maybe he has a crush on someone at church who is also chapel cleaning.

A woman told me their ward stopped paying for a custodial service. She says she won't use the church restrooms because they're filthy. I attended a service with my extended family at the beginning of the year in a different ward. Their restrooms also weren't filthy but there were a lot of paper towels and pieces of toilet paper on the floor.

I remember getting stuck with the restroom cleaning duty. All I can say is that after cleaning the women's restroom, I haven't been able to look at LDS women the same! It was repulsive!

Doesn't it make you wonder what their homes must be like.

I suppose when they had custodians they got used to knowing that someone will come in and clean so they really don't care. It must have been like having a mum who never tells you to clean up after you.

Mo's will be asked to do more and more, yet they will still support and be obedient to the cult.
