I have a great family friend who has come to visit in wake of some tough times for our family.

She's Catholic and comforted us with her testimony concerning the power of belief in the Virgin Mary and the Saints. She had a "burning in the chest" when she was a teen, sitting in a Catholic Church, praying to the saints. God answered her through the Holy Spirit.

She's a great friend and someone I would lay down my life for. I accepted her support and did not criticize her sincere belief.

I did reflect though ... how would a TBM Mormon explain this spiritual manisfestation? Is Heavenly Father tricking this lady, is she being blinded by the "craftiness of men", or is she just imagining this "false message"?

Just makes it more clear to me that you can't trust your feelings.

LOL between the two I would chose the Catholic church, hands down.

Mainly because the RC leaves you the hell alone respects your privacy.

When my RC friends don't agree with something the Catholic church says they toss it in the circular file and that's the end of it.

The spiritual part of us and the emotional part of us are so closely linked that it is possible to mistake an emotional impulse for something spiritual.

Has nothin' to do with god or his heat-producing ghost friend.

I basically feel it anytime I am in tune with what is going on around me. I felt it at the beach this weekend, walking to my car from the casino, watching my kids play, watching a movie...

Anytime I am present, I feel it. It's not able to answer any questions I have...just kind of lets me know when I'm doing all right in life, or not taking things for granted.
