I think I'm going to start calling them Kolobians from now as well. It's so hilarious to me, & also reminds me what a total joke they are in general.
Thank you, for your insight. Kolobians is a good if not great reference. Half our family is in and half out. Now at family dinner we can discuss those that have a case of kolobianitis.
Sorry I still vote for The MORG; that is, The Mormon Borg. The Borg was always always in the singular, in Startreck they never said they saw "a Borg", but rather "The Borg". The Borg was a single mind replicated in millions of minions - they all knew the same thing and did the same thing and had no individual identity.
If you killed one it made no diference, the others were the same and they replicated quickly. They also lived in a Hive like insects (making Utah the Borg-Hive state bye the way).
If obedience is the first law of heaven, then insects are the most obedient creaters God has created and we Mormons mortals should strive to be like them.
Calling them kolobians segways into the fact that they believe they are from the star system kolob, that their god is really a super-advanced alien, and that he's coming back soon to take us to the mother ship.
It draws an immediate parallel to scientology and other fringe groups.
In fact, it's really one or the other. You can't live with elohim and jehova AND be exalted, because you'll have your own celestial sphere around your own star (like kolob) and so will jehova, and so will every exalted man along with their infinite celestial wives.
Being a god, in reality, is the antithesis of "returning home to heavenly father." Instead, it's a guarantee that you'll NEVER AGAIN be with him or anyone you're supposedly sealed to except your wive(s).
These thoughts may have occured to your work buddy before they shut down and sang "popcorn popping on the apricot tree" in their head the rest of the day...
