The Harold Camping debacle is exactly what you would expect when people believe the Bible is inerrant.

Militant Muslims justify themselves with passages from the Koran...the same book that peaceful Muslims follow.

Mormons tell us we must abandon the sciences of astronomy, geology, biology, archaeology and linguistics because they conflict with LDS scriptures.

All books are obviously created by human beings. To believe otherwise is deeply delusional.

Blame the Devil (or ones own sinfulness) when things turn out poorly. Praise Gawd when they turn out in "good" ways. Anything to keep from being a responsible, thinking, person.

Well that makes perfect sense, because as a mo I was completely delusional, thinking all good things, coincidences or whatever, were always from the god of mo'ism. Whatever.

It's just so very easy to see when you are out, but the indoctrination can be very deep and when you are in it, it is nearly impossible to see or find the truth.

"...[N]o considerate God would destroy the human mind by making it so rigid and unadaptable as to depend on one book, the Bible, for all the answers. For the use of words, and thus of a book, is to point beyond themselves to a world of life and experience that is not mere words or even ideas. Just as money is not real, consumable wealth, books are not life. TO IDEALIZE SCRIPTURES IS LIKE EATING PAPER CURRENCY." (Empasis added.)
