The poor TBM's go on about how the BoM "speaks to them about Jesus Christ in a special way" without realizing that OF COURSE IT DOES--it's Bible fan-fiction!

I can't remember which fallacy covers this, but since the BoM was written well after both the Old and New Testaments, and by men well-versed in Protestant ethics, it is steeped in exactly what the reader would want to hear; it's preaching to the choir.

If someone thinks it's real they are easily bamboozled, despite the terrible faux-Elizabethan writing and repeated storylines.

Poor suckers....

It’s interesting how very little of Jesus is in the BoM. There’s more and it came to passes than the revisionist Sermon on the Mount. Samuel the Lamanite’s Boner.

Speaks to them about Christ in a special way? Like how he destroyed all those cities and killed all those people who had nothing to do with his crucifixion? And bragged about it? Oh, that's special all right…

Christ to Romans who had just nailed him to a cross: "Forgive them blah blah"
Christ to New Worlders who were minding their own business: "DIE YOU BASTARDS!!"

I bet none of those Morms ever bothered to read all of 3 Nephi 9.

This is an image of a TBM brain scan while reading the "difficult" parts of the BoM (with a Lamanite!):

You must remember that this was NOT written by a 14 year old farm boy. Rather by an adult researcher and story teller!`
