Okay, here's another faith question I have. Those of you Christians feel free to chime in. Why is faith considered a virtue among the religious? In Christianity, and particularly the evangelical born again types, having faith in Jesus saves you from eternal damnation with the devil. How does having "faith" in some particular deity make you deserving of heaven whereas someone else, who may be a good person but doesn't believe in that particular god, or any god at all, deserving of hell with the devil?
Why is belief in some unseen and unheard deity a virtue? If you live a good life just as Jesus would want you to live, minus the belief in him, how does that make you worthy of the same punishment of people like Adolf Hitler?
