TX Religious School Sued For Bullying, Says Courts Can't Intervene

"As a religious institution, Trinity has a constitutionally-protected freedom to make decisions regarding the discipline of its students without judicial interference,” the court document states in the school’s motion to dismiss. “The courts cannot second guess those decisions, even in the guise of purportedly ‘secular’ causes of action.”

Hmph.

Yes, the courts can intervene. Their so-called "constitutionally-protected freedom to make decisions regarding the discipline of its students" does not give them the freedom to violate the law in doing that discipline.

They can't, for example, cut off a student's hand for "discipline." Or do anything else illegal.
