it's not a real big deal, but may be indicative of some success in the process of mainstreaming. Maybe the folks in the church are feeling a greater affinity with mainstream protestantism.

Two comments:

The cross in the picture is inverted. Interesting.

One of the comments mentioned that they used to show Hyrum's bloodstain on the floor until a visiting minister accused them of worshipping Hyrum's blood. After that, they had the stain removed. Why would the criticism of a visiting minister have that kind of effect? Why would they care what a "gentile" thought? Unless, of course, there was some truth to his words.

In the "old days" we would never have even considered using a cross in any way. We were a "peculiar" people back then. Well, they're still peculiar, but their attempts to appear mainstream fall flat with all the weird beliefs like temple rituals, garments and Kolob.
